Gary Moore - Live From London

Excerpt from promotional release:- On January 31, 2020, Provogue, a division of the Mascot Label Group will release Gary Moore - Live From London on double vinyl, deluxe CD, digipack CD and digital.

Live From London was recorded on Dec 2nd 2009 at Islington Academy, and is widely regarded as one of his best shows.

This recording catches Gary Moore at the height of his blues prowess, with classics like 'Oh Pretty Woman', 'Parisienne Walkways', 'I'll Love You More Than You'll Ever Know', and of course 'Still Got The Blues'. Between the opener and encore, Gary Moore gave us everything he had, and Live From London is a testament to one of the greatest and beloved guitarists of all time.

Penultimate track on this release sees 'The Blues Is Alright' and allows Gary to make this Little Milton track his own with his indulgent playing and raspy vocals. We finish with a song that needs no introduction and live is just a wonderful piece of artistic gold. 'Parisienne Walkways' is just a classic Gary Moore masterpiece and you should really take the time to just be self indulgent and turn this up and ignore everything else.

Whoever chose this show to be the one used for this latest upcoming release deserves a round of applause as this is just a wonderful spectacle of a master of his art doing what he does best. You cannot help but be taken back some 10 years to a wonderful blues experience.

Mascot Label Group and Provogue should also be applauded for bringing this to the masses as it really is a fantastic recording of a true musical legend.

TFM gives Gary Moore - Live From London a big fat 5/5, and is a must have in your collection when released.

'Oh Pretty Woman' kicks off this live album with a psychedelic Hendrix style burst into a wonderful track that allows Gary to demonstrate his skills perfectly.

'Bad For You Baby' has a much more bluesy feel but still allows for some immense guitar work and growling vocals, before 'Down The Line', which as Gary himself says is "fast country blues", and I cannot describe it any better than the man himself. High tempo, high intensity.

'Since I Met You Baby', although not as high tempo as the previous track, still bounds along with a great rockin' vibe before 'Have You Heard' slows the pace and allows for some wonderful and full on Gary Moore blues playing in every sense of the word, and along with his vocals you cannot help but be enveloped by this intoxicating track.

'All Your Love' is a slower sultry bunch of dirty guitar work and vocals, whilst the 'Mojo (Boogie)' does exactly what it says on the tin right from the start. You cannot help but move to the boogie woogie beat.

'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' is a Donny Hathaway cover given the full Gary Moore attention and touch and definitely does the original justice, then 'Too Tired' brings the pace back up to a full on rockin' blues number with the trademark Gary Moore sound.

'Still Got The Blues' was a huge success for  Gary when released in 1990, and this live version is just wonderful, so sit back and enjoy. 'Walking By Myself' gets the audience participating right from the start with this great version of the Jimmy Rogers classic.
