Georgia Fearn

Black Mirror EP Review

Extract from Bio:- Georgia is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Carmarthen. She first began to write songs when she was nine, and has developed this talent to create a  'welcome mixed bag of catchy pop songs with hints of folk, indie and alternative hip-hop'.

We start this latest offering with 'Deal With The Devil', which has a very industrial sounding start and throughout,  before we are treated to a modern and fresh vocal sound.

This is followed by he title track from the ep 'Black Mirror', which has a funky music/vocal combination with a really addictive sound that would not be out of place played on any of the top radio stations. Fresh and modern, lyrically and musically. I'm getting hints of Mary J Blige and Lilly Allen

'Teen Queen' is up next and has a strong start before again we are taken on a musical journey that has so many interesting turns musically and lyrically that make this another great track and very interesting to listen to.

Last but by no means least is 'Famous Last Words' which is another wonderful offering from someone so young, but who has the ability to write wonderfully catchy modern tunes with hooks left right and centre that will have you listening over and over again.

Now pop music isn't really my thing, but this young lady has so much more to offer than just pop music. There is soul, funk, blues, rap, folk, all mixed in with some really clinical and well written lyrics by Georgia herself.

You really need to check this young lady out as her music is maturing by the day and really is worth listening to. TFM gives 'Black Mirror' 4/5, go and check her out now.....
